5/25/2017, Day 7, Delft

A marathon event was going on in Delft.

The Markt Square, with the 14th-century Protestant "New Church" anchoring at one end.

The Town Hall, anchoring at another end of the Markt Square.

A house that Vermeer lived when he was a young boy. (Now a gift shop.)

Vermeer Centrum,
with exhibits paying tribute to Vermeer.

Exhibit of copies of all Vermeer's known paintings arranged chronologically with commentary.
(But know before you go that they are copies, not original paintings.)

An exhibit on the top floor explaining the hidden symbols of love found in Vermeer's paintings.

May be this was also part of the race too?

Cheese at a supermarket.

Our hotel in the morning.
The front side faces west, so in the afternoon it would be under full sun.
Our room was at the Front Right on the top floor (the one with 2 windows side-by-side).

One of many canals in Delft.

The 13th century Protestant "Old Church" at the far end.
