It was the spicy sauce the vendor later brushed on the squid that made the squid very tasty.

土魠魚羹 - a popular fried 土馲魚 fish in a thick soup.
(According to Yahoo translation, 土馲魚 is a kind of Spanish mackerel). 
A large bowl was NT80, a small bowl was NT45.

A funny Turkish guy touted Turkish ice cream at the night market.
I think the ice cream was made in Taiwan, but might be made with Turkish recipes.

Tina had a bowl of hot red bean soup with sweet rice balls.

I had a bowl of 八寶冰, shaved ice with 8 delight (red bean, green bean, taro cubes, peanuts, ...).

鴨肉羹麵, duck with noodle in a thick soup. NT45 (USD$1.50).
I had this not in the night market but at a popular duck eatery across the street from
Da-Li Department Store on Wu-Fu Road, about 15-min walk from Hotel Kingdom.
A day earlier I had 鴨肉湯麵 (duck soup with noodle) at the same place. Both were very good.
If I go there again I'd try 鴨肉冬粉 (duck soup with cellophane noodle),
I saw some one eating it, and it looked very delicious with shredded ginger.
