Information provided in this page is for those 
who have completed the registration for 2002 TAC/EC at Amherst, MA

Make sure to bring the confirmation letter which has been mailed to you in early June. The letter contains your confirmation number for your registration.

When you arrive UMass campus, please first come to the TAC/EC 2002 Registration Area which will be set up inside Lincoln Campus Center. 

Present your letter with Confirmation Number to TAC/EC staff at the registration table and we will have the conference and registration kit  ready for you. The kit, one for each participant, contains everything you need for the conference, including programs, your name tag, meal ticket/card, concert ticket, dormitory assignment information, etc.

We have designated two cellular phones for TAC/EC On-site telephone contact 大會現場聯絡電話 1-978-973-3306 (primary) and 1-508-523-6522 (secondary).  For 2nd Generation Contact use: 1-617-290-2324 (Tommy Tan)

For your convenience, direction to University of Massachusetts - Amherst, with a Campus Map was sent to you with the confirmation letter.  If you need more direction/map information, you may check here.  Two campus maps are available here 1 (PDF) and here 2 (GIF).

Parking :  (new on 7/1/02  2:20pm) Parking passes will be issued at the registration site, one pass for each car. With the pass, you are allowed, throughout the conference,  to park your vehicle in the assigned parking lots, including lots 65, 63, 25, 26, 27, 33, 49, all Purple Lots and all Yellow Lots.  (here_2)

Curve-side parking may not be allowed anywhere on campus anytime, except briefly (15 min. or so) for loading & drop-off at the conference site and dormitories. Please do exercise your common sense while parking your vehicle to avoid being ticketed or towed by police. On campus, unless otherwise noted, posted towing zones are enforced by ticketing and towing 24 hours a day.

If you are to stay in the dormitory, please be noted the following (住宿舍的朋友請注意)

• University provides blanket, sheets, pillows, towels, soap, and plastic cups. Bring your own toothbrush and toothpaste. 學校提供毛毯､床單､枕頭､毛巾､肥皂､和塑膠杯。 
  note: 請自備牙刷､牙膏。
  
• Dorm rooms are well air circulated but not air-conditioned. University has electric fans for rent ($5 each). You can also bring your own electric fan. 宿舍通風良好，但無冷氣空調，可自帶電風扇或向學校租(每台 $5)。
  
• Refundable $10 deposit per room key is required. You may pay with either cash or check upon check-in. The same cash or check will be returned on spot when you check out. No refund will be issued for keys returned after the departure date. 請準備房間保證金每隻 $10，支票或現金皆可。離開當天交還房間鑰匙時，保證金全額退還。在此特別提醒您，依UMass校方指示，鑰匙必須在場歸還，不得離開後再郵寄回來，否則保證金恕不退還。

For those who have reserved the hotel room, please note that the official Hotel check-in time is after 3:00 PM.  We are requesting a favor for TAC/EC attendees to check in earlier, but nothing has been promised to us yet.

Before you leave for Amherst, please come back to TAC/EC website again for update, news, and last minute announcement. Also, be sure to check out the area attractions page so to plan ahead to visit the interesting places, including Tanglewood Music Festival, famous Boston Museums etc.
